This page is for California residents. The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. Here is how to use it.

01. I do not sell your personal information

I, David Keyes, do not sell personal information for money, and I do not intend to.

California law defines "sharing" broadly: it includes making personal information available to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising, even when no money changes hands. If you allow analytics or marketing cookies on this site, the tools behind them may count as "sharing" under that definition. That is why this page exists.

02. What may be shared, and with whom

  • Google Analytics (analytics cookies, only with your consent): IP address, usage data, device information. May constitute "sharing": yes.
  • HubSpot (marketing cookies, only with your consent): IP address, visit history, form attribution. May constitute "sharing": yes.
  • Resend (email delivery): your name, email address, and message, to deliver form emails. May constitute "sharing": no.
  • Vercel (hosting): IP address and request data, to serve the site. May constitute "sharing": no.

Providers marked "no" receive only what they need to deliver the service you asked for and do not use it for advertising.

03. How to opt out

Option 1: Decline or withdraw cookie consent

Choose "Decline" in the cookie banner. If you accepted earlier, use the Manage cookie preferences button on the Cookie Policy page. Once declined, the site stops loading those tools and clears the cookies they set.

Option 2: Send me a request

Use the request form on this page, or email privacy@davidkeyes.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information." Include your name and the email address you used with me. I will process the request within 15 business days and confirm when it is done.

04. Your full California privacy rights

These rights apply whether or not you submit an opt-out request.

Right to know

You may ask what personal information I have collected about you, where it came from, why I use it, and who I share it with.

Right to delete

You may ask me to delete personal information I collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.

Right to correct

You may ask me to correct inaccurate personal information.

Right to limit use of sensitive personal information

I do not collect sensitive personal information, such as precise location, financial account details, or health information.

Right to non-discrimination

I will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

Authorized agents

You may have an authorized agent submit a request for you. The agent must provide written permission signed by you, and I may still verify your identity with you directly.

05. Shine the Light (California Civil Code § 1798.83)

California residents may ask, once a year, what personal information was disclosed to third parties for their own direct marketing. I do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing. Questions: privacy@davidkeyes.com.

06. Do Not Track

There is no common standard for responding to browser "Do Not Track" signals, so the site does not change its behavior in response to them. Analytics and marketing tools load only if you allow them in the cookie banner.

07. How I verify your identity

Before acting on a request, I will ask you to confirm the name and email address you used with me, and for deletion requests I may ask for a reply from that email address. I will never ask for a Social Security number, payment details, or passwords.

I respond to verified requests within 45 days and will tell you if I need more time. I may respond to the same person no more than twice in a 12-month period, as California law allows.
